His perception of Founders Court and the way we do business:

“Essentially, we’re looking to back winners – those individuals with high energy, a record of achievement, a sense of urgency, who enjoy competition and want to be regarded as leaders in their industry.

“We enjoy being a part of a process that fosters superior achievement at both the personal and corporate level, resulting in enhanced tangible value for all involved.”

T. Jerome Madison

TJ Madison joined Founders Court in 1985.  During his career, he has participated in more than fifty investments and has served as chairman, president, or CEO of more than ten companies.  Prior to Founders Court, he was a founder and the first chief financial officer of Cytogen, a pioneer biotechnology company.  In the 1990's, he took a leave of absense to return to Cytogen to raise more than $150 million from public and private sources.  He also engineered the acquisitions of Cellcor, a cell-based cancer company, and CytoRad, a prostate cancer company.  He co-founded Targon, an oncology development company, and AxCell Biosciences, a bioinformatics and proteomics discovery company for which he served as founding chairman and chief executive officer.

Before co-founding Cytogen, he was corporate controller of Rhone Poulenc Rorer (now part of Sanofi-Aventis), a worldwide pharmaceutical copany.  He has also been a manager with KPMG.

He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Monmouth University and is a CPA.

His perception of Founders Court and the way we do business:

"Focus is a core concept at Founders Court.

"We see many opportunities. By focusing on our acquisitions criteria - proven management, established earnings and positive cash flow, a market niche and a reasonable price, we're able to choose the right opportunities.

"Good investments take time to develop. For this reason, we work at building relationships rather than simply doing deals.

"We focus on a company's progress and achievements.

"We collaborate closely with Management, with lenders and with our Investors. Unless we develop relationships built on trust and confidence, the concept doesn't work. When it works, everyone wins."
